By accessing and using markkits.com ("Website") and our Markdown to PDF conversion service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you do not have permission to access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Markkits provides a browser-based service that converts Markdown documents to PDF and styled rich text, with features including:

  • Client-side Markdown to PDF conversion
  • Local image folder and .zip bundle resolution
  • KaTeX math equation and Mermaid diagram (flowchart & sequence) rendering
  • Multiple template choices (Technical, Academic, Book, WeChat) and rich-text clipboard copy
  • Split-screen live Markdown editing and A4 preview

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

Currently, our service does not require account creation for basic usage.

3.2 User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • The content you process in your browser
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your local sessions
  • All activities that occur under your session

4. Acceptable Use Policy

4.1 Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to process or distribute malicious files
  • Attempt to bypass service limitations
  • Use the service for illegal purposes
  • Infringe on others' intellectual property rights
  • Distribute offensive or harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access
  • Use automated scraping tools without permission

4.2 File Restrictions

  • Maximum file size: 50MB per file or archive
  • Supported document & archive types: .md, .markdown, .zip, or direct pasted text
  • Supported image types: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .svg, .webp

5. Intellectual Property Rights

5.1 Our Rights

The Service, including its original website code, templates, and features, is owned by Markkits and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

5.2 Your Rights and Responsibilities

  • You retain 100% ownership and all rights to the content you process
  • Because conversion runs locally in your browser, your files are not uploaded to our servers
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring your content does not violate any third party's rights

6. Payment Terms

6.1 Free Service

Basic conversion features are currently provided free of charge.

6.2 Future Premium Services

We may introduce premium features in the future. Any paid services will require explicit agreement to additional terms.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1 Service Provided "As Is"

We provide the Service "as is" without any express or implied warranties.

7.2 Disclaimers

We are not liable for:

  • Service interruptions
  • Data loss
  • Conversion accuracy
  • Third-party content
  • Indirect or consequential damages

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately without notice for:

  • Breach of Terms
  • Harmful behavior
  • Suspected illegal activities
  • Technical necessity
